IDB and SNV Join Forces to Support Inclusive Business in Peru and Ecuador
Quito, Ecuador, January 31, 2008 – The Netherlands Development Organisation (SNV) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) through its Multilateral Investment Fund (MIF) signed a strategic partnership to create new economic opportunities for the low-income majority of Latin America. The MIF has approved financing for two non-reimbursible technical cooperation projects in Peru and Ecuador, totaling US$1.6 million and US$1.5 million, respectively. These projects will be executed by SNV offices in Peru and Ecuador and will receive additional funding from other institutions. Both endeavors will target Inclusive Business development at the base of the economic pyramid in order to boost income and employment levels for the low-income population. The two projects will incorporate low-income entrepreneurs into the value chains of private-sector enterprises.

SNV is looking for new Supervisory Board Members
SNV has initiated a recruitment procedure for Supervisory Board members as the sitting term of certain members expires in July 2008. The Supervisory Board supervises SNV’s policies and their implementation. The SB fulfils the role of “sounding board” for the BoD when it comes to policy decisions. A minimum of five (5) members and no more than seven (7) members can take seat in the SB. Annually, the Supervisory Board evaluates the BoD and, in addition to this, evaluates its own added value and continuity.
